Erin Lorek is a multi-disciplinary designer who explores the materiality of light through texture and form.

In 2019, after a 20 year career lighting the performative arts, she turned her attention to the applied arts with her first collection, Iron + Glass. This brutalist collection of cast-glass centers on the playful nature of light as it encounters both the random and the patterned.

Erin’s current body of work, Shiny Bits, explores the binary nature of the reflection and the inevitable evolution of the sequin into the diode. Plaster, acrylic and metal leaf are combined in reference to the Beaux Arts movement, vintage spectacle and the Mummers Parade.
